Brick red in appearance with a rim of copper typical of the Nebbiolo grape, this wine possesses an alluring bouquet of autumn leaves, red currants, cigar box, wild herbs and cassia bark on the nose. A bright and attractive palate of cocoa and wild raspberry is evident with fine tannins, the result of a lengthy post-ferment maceration.
As Vinea Marson’s vineyard continues to develop, the vine age of our Nebbiolo is beginning to produce wonderful and consistent wines. This wine stands as a testament to the potential of Heathcote for the production of premium quality Nebbiolo. Decanting prior to serving is recommended – this wine can be aged for ten years or more.
‘Clear red, grading to onion skin on the rim; truly interesting, with silky, spicy preserved red fruits, fresh acidity, and tannins polished to a high lustre.’ 94 Points – James Halliday
